IIM Shillong signs MoU with AIT, Thailand

Shillong: IIM Shillong and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration and enhance academic and cultural exchanges between the two institutions. The agreement focuses on mutual support for teaching and research endeavors.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. D.P. Goyal, Director of IIM Shillong, and Prof. Nitin K. Tripathi, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs at AIT. Representing IIM Shillong were Prof. Naliniprabha Tripathy, Dean of External Relations, and Dr. Teidorlang Lyngdoh, Chair of External Relations. 

The AIT delegation included Dr. Roger Levermore, Vice President for Development and Dean of the School of Management (SOM); Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director of International Affairs at the Office of International and Public Affairs (OIPA); Sanjeet Amatya, Director of Public Affairs at OIPA; and Zia Islam, Executive Assistant to the Dean and Coordinator at the Dean’s Office, SOM.

The partnership aligns with the institutes’ vision to cultivate a global outlook among students and researchers. The MoU aims to facilitate collaboration through initiatives such as International Dual/Joint Masters and Doctoral Programs, faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and internship opportunities.

Additionally, the agreement includes sharing resources like library databases, journals, and online materials to enhance the academic and research capabilities of both institutions.

Prof. D.P. Goyal expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership offers numerous opportunities for our students and faculty. We look forward to witnessing its positive impact.”
