Jaipur: All India Congress president has appointed Harish Choudhary as in-charge of Punjab and Chandigarh in place of Harish Rawat with immediate effect.
In a statement issued by KC Venugopal From All India Congress Committee, it has been said that “Rawat is being relieved of his current responsibilities. Harish Rawat will continue to be a member of the Congress Working Committee.”
A few days ago, Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh had resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab and Charanjit Singh Channi replaced him as the CM of the state.
Choudhary is currently serving as the Minister of Revenue in the Ashok Gehlot led Congress government in Rajasthan. He is a Member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Baytu constituency Barmer district in Rajasthan as an Indian National Congress party candidate.
