Imphal: The Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, inaugurated the Manipur Symposium on C20: Education and Digital Transformation at Imperial Hall, Classic Grande, Imphal, on Thursday. The programme was organised by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and hosted by the Intellectual Forum of the North East, Manipur.
Speaking at the inaugural programme as the chief guest, Governor Anusuiya Uikey said that under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has achieved many such achievements at the international level during Amrit Kaal, which makes all of us proud. Getting the presidency of organisations like the G20, the United Nations Security Council, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in one year shows the new India getting stronger at the global level.
This is a golden opportunity for us to introduce the country’s strength, culture, and power to the world. Today, the world is looking towards India for the solution to all its major challenges. Certainly it will prove to be helpful in shaping our global objectives, she added.
The Governor further stated that the presidency of the G20 is special in all these ways, as it is a group of countries that represents 85% of the world’s GDP. Its agenda is inclusive and ambitious. She also lauded and congratulated the mantra of Madhav Seva, B20 President Mata Amrita Nandmayi ji for serving the poor and downtrodden, as this is probably the first time that a spiritual leader has been given the opportunity to represent a major event like C20.
The Governor also mentioned that Mata Amrita Nandamoyi is working on service, spirituality, and wellness together, and that in India, both wellness and spirituality are linked to each other. We can see the love and compassion of Mother Amrita Nandamoyi in India today. Along with mother power, the image of great men, sages, and sages of our country is seen in them.
In the last 9 years, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, so much work has been done in every region, especially in the North East, which has never been done after independence. Whether these works are related to infrastructure related to connectivity, the rail network, work in the field of health, or revolutions in the fields of education and digital. And today, the North East is seen in a new form. Earlier, the news of disasters used to be common from here, but now there has been a lot of reduction in them, she added.
Regarding women’s empowerment, the governor stated that it has become the identity of the new India. Continuous work is going on to make women more empowered. She expressed her gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for giving women the opportunity to move forward, especially tribal women. She also said that today, the potential of digital India is echoing around the world. New India has also become a leader in ensuring social security through digitization.
Due to digital transformation in education, health, banking, and other sectors, people have convenience in every field. Everyone has seen how digital transformation kept everything running, like education and banking, in Corona. Online teaching classes have proved to be very helpful to students and teachers.
The governor added that the new education policy is truly in line with the needs of New India. Today, the youth are witnessing a new era, moving forward full of skills. New India is preparing its citizens for the 21st century through its new education policy. So, she made an appeal to the gathering to take advantage of this opportunity and do something through their contribution so that not only the world remembers the tenure of this presidency of India but also the contributions of all are discussed in history.
