Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla releases book on Maj. Bob Khathing

Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today released the second edition of the coffee table book ‘The Life of the Unsung Hero – Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing’ during a ceremony held at Valley View, Imphal. Prior to the release, the Governor laid a wreath at the memorial of Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing at the venue. The ceremony was attended by John S. R. Khathing, IRS (Retd.); Major General Gaurav Sharma, IGAR (S); Major General Subhankar Basu, GOC, 57th Mountain Division; along with other senior officers and family members of Major Khathing.

As part of the event, the Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing Meritorious Awards was distributed to meritorious students who have excelled in the class X and XII examinations. Addressing at the ceremony, Governor stated that the second edition of the coffee table book on Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing goes beyond recounting the life of an extraordinary son of the state, serving as a reflection of the enduring values of courage, integrity and selfless service that underpin nation-building. He highlighted Maj. Khathing’s distinguished journey as a soldier, administrator and diplomat.

Governor further emphasised that Maj. Khathing’s life carries a profound message for the younger generation, urging them to draw inspiration from his discipline, humility and commitment to the greater good. He underscored that the nation’s future depends on youth dedicated to unity, constructive dialogue and peace, noting that lasting progress is built on collective effort and mutual understanding, and expressing hope that the book will inspire them to contribute to a peaceful, united and prosperous society.
