Panaji: Goa recorded 80 new cases of novel coronavirus while two people also died due to the virus during the past 24 hours, the health department said on Tuesday.
According to the daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), with the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of infections in the state rose to 1,77,228 while the death toll climbed to 3,332.
A total of 81 more recoveries were also reported during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recoveries in the state to 1,73,252.
The recovery rate in the state currently stands at 97.76 per cent.
On Tuesday, 67 patients have advised of home isolation, 13 were admitted to hospitals while seven were discharged.
During the same period, as many as 3542 new samples were tested, taking the number of tests conducted in the state to 14,03,944.
Currently, the state houses 644 active COVID cases.
