Garo film ‘Chanchisoa’ selected for screening at Indian Panorama

This year, Indian Panorama has selected 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films, including five mainstream titles, from a diverse pool of 384 contemporary Indian feature films.

Shillong: The Garo film Chanchisoa, directed by Elvachisa Ch Sangma and Dipankar Das, has been chosen for screening in the prestigious 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Chanchisoa is one of 20 non-feature films selected for the Indian Panorama, a key section of IFFI that showcases the finest in Indian cinema.

This year, Indian Panorama has selected 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films, including five mainstream titles, from a diverse pool of 384 contemporary Indian feature films. Leading the feature film selection, the opening film will be Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (Hindi), directed by Randeep Hooda.

The non-feature film category, selected from 262 entries, highlights the works of both emerging and established filmmakers who document, explore, entertain, and reflect contemporary Indian values. The non-feature opening film is Ghar Jaisa Kuch (Ladakhi), directed by Harsh Sangani.

The Feature Film Jury was led by the renowned director, actor, and screenwriter Dr. Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, supported by a 12-member panel of distinguished film professionals, who represent the diversity of India’s cinematic landscape, as shared in a PIB press release from Shillong.
