Imphal: Manipur registered two Covid related deaths, 24 positive cases from the general population and 17 recoveries in the last 24 hour leading up to 2 pm of Friday, as per an official release from the Health Department
The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West and Bishnupur. With these two deaths, the cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1987. Both the expired persons had co-morbidity and had not been vaccinated for Covid.
Of the 24 persons who tested positive from the general population, 12 are from Imphal West, 10 and two from Kakching.
Altogether, 1,429 persons were tested for a positivity rate of 1.7 %.
Meanwhile, 17 persons recovered and were discharged, five of them from home isolation, nine from CCCs and three from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 98.14 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,478 out of which 1,23,147 have recovered leaving 344 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on December 9, 2021, is 6,907, the cumulative number of doses administered is 22,21,184 (1st dose 12,97,996, 2nd dose 9,23,188).
