Imphal: The fifth edition of the Fit India Swachhta Freedom Run in Kakching district took place on Sunday, organized by the District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Kakching, in partnership with the Khelo India Centre (Badminton and Wushu) at the Indoor Stadium in Kakching Chumnang Leikai. Themed “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat,” the event encouraged fitness and cleanliness.
The 5 km run was flagged off by Ng. Sunita Chanu, the District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer. Around 52 students from various schools across Kakching district took part, along with staff from the District Youth Affairs and Sports Office and officials from Khelo India Centre.
Launched by the Prime Minister on August 29, 2019, the Fit India Movement aims to integrate fitness into daily life, promoting behavioral changes towards a more active lifestyle for a healthier nation.
