Chitrakoot (UP): An FIR has been lodged against 12 policemen, including then Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal, in connection with the death of a man who was taken into custody in the Bahilpurwa area in Chitrakoot district in Uttar Pradesh.
Advocate Rajendra Yadav said Nathuniya of Parwaliya village moved the court alleging that Mittal along with the other policemen took away her husband Bhalchandra on March 31 last year.
The same day it was declared that Bhalchandra was killed in an “encounter”. The wife alleged after seeing the body that it was clear that Bhalchandra had been assaulted and murdered, Yadav said.
He said Special Judge (Dacoity Court) Vinit Narain Pandey called for an FIR. This was filed at the Bahilpurwa police station on Friday night.
