Bengaluru: Eight persons were killed on Saturday and many others injured when a private bus overturned near Pavagada in Karnataka’s Tumkur district.
About a dozen ambulances were employed to shift the injured to hospitals, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra told reporters at Shivamogga.
Superintendent of Police Rahul Kumar Shahapurwad said rash driving was to blame for the accident.
The bus was carrying some 60 passengers, including some who were seated on its roof.
