Imphal: Education Minister S Rajen Singh inaugurated three government schools under School Fagathansi Mission, Saturday. The inaugurated schools include Lilong Govt. Higher Secondary School in Langthabal, Kakching Makha Govt. High School in Kakching and Kakching Higher Secondary School in Wabagai.
Rajen Singh while inaugurating the Lilong Hr Secondary School said that works for the construction of new blocks and renovation and repairing of old buildings have been taken up under the School Fagathansi Mission since 2019. With the view to motivate students to go to government schools and colleges the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister, N Biren Singh has initiated this mission, he added.
He maintained that the percentage of enrolment of students to government schools have been increasing tremendously after the mission was launched in the state. The teachers in the government schools are well qualified and we require their efficient service in order to build a better future.
Minister also explained that government schools have been reopened from January 27 after a gap of ten months due to the pandemic of COVID-19. He said that in order to make up the deficit classes there should be mutual cooperation and understanding between government, school authorities, students and guardians for the smooth running of school classes.
Minister also assured to develop the school play ground and also to provide necessary items and infrastructures of the school on priority basis.
Taking part at the inaugural occasion MLA, Langthabal assembly, Karam Shyam Singh said that the initiatives of the government to promote education sector in the state is appreciable. He appealed the teaching and non-teaching staffs to discharge their service with sincerity and dedication.
Minister Rajen while speaking at the inaugural function of Kakching Higher Secondary School, said that government schools have been gaining momentum during the past few months. Minister expressed his happiness at the increasing registration of students in the school.
He also reminded the teachers of their noble profession and service. He said that teachers play the biggest role in building a good society.
MLA, Wabagai assembly, Md Fajur Rahim, MLA, Kakching assembly, M Rameshwor, Commissioner Education(S), T Ranjit Singh, Director Education(S), L Nandakumar Singh, DC Kakching, Kengoo Zuringla, attended the occasion as president and guests of honour respectively. Officials from the education department were also present during the inaugural function.
