Imphal: Troopers of Assam Rifles seized 600 gms of brown sugar worth about Rs 42 lakh at Chandel district on Sunday.
An Assam Rifles official said there was an input regarding movement of contraband items in Libung, Chandel District, a special operations team was launched.
After carrying out specific search of the area and road side, the party discovered a bag concealed under thick foliage.
On examining, it was found that the bag contained 15 soap cases of brown sugar. Seized contraband was handed over to Tengnoupal PS for further investigation.
