Imphal: Manipur Police and troops seized drugs worth Rs 13.2 cr in three separate incidents on Tuesday, police on Wednesday said.
In the first incident 52 soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing 2.121 kg, valued at about Rs.4,24,20,000 from one W. Mathuhema, of Senapati District by police.
In the second seizure 55 soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing 2.293 kg l, valued at about Rs. 4,58,60,000 from one H. Wilson, and Solomon, of Senapati District.
The operation was jointly conducted by Tengnoupal Police and 20 AR. In the third incident 53 soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing 2.194 kg, valued at about Rs.4,38,80,000 from one Peter Hemkhomang Baite, of Moreh Ward No 1.
The total value of the above seized drugs calculated as per NCB norms is approximately Rs.13,21,60,000, police said.
Three different FIRs have been registered at Tengnoupal Police Station. Chief Minister N Biren said cash reward was also handed over to the team.Â
