DEO Churachandpur makes arrangements for voting facilities for IDPs

All displaced persons who left their native places during the conflict shall continue to be borne on the electoral rolls of the assembly and parliamentary constituencies concerned in the State of Manipur.

Imphal: In compliance with Election Commission of India (ECI)’s approved ‘Scheme for Internally Displaced Persons of Manipur to Vote in Relief Camps,’ the District Election Officer (DEO/DC), Churachandpur is making arrangement for voting facilities for the internally displaced voters who are either residing in relief camps or other places in the District. 

All displaced persons who left their native places during the conflict shall continue to be borne on the electoral rolls of the assembly and parliamentary constituencies concerned in the State of Manipur. 

The internally displaced persons shall be provided with the facility to vote at ‘Special Polling Stations’ to be set up in Relief Camps.

As such, displaced persons/specified voters who are staying in the relief camps or otherwise such as staying with relatives/friends or on rents within Churachandpur District who wish to exercise their franchises are informed to give the option to elicit the choice of special polling station where they would like to cast their votes.

Such voters may obtain non-statutory ‘ID Form’ from the offices of the District Election Officer or Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) at Mini-Secretariat, Tuibong or SDOs concerned during office hours on all working days. 

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) shall also provide the ID Form in the Relief Camps through EROs. The duly filled in ID Form should be submitted to the ARO at the earliest in order to expedite arrangement/determination of Special Polling \stations promptly.
