DEO Bishnupur flags off polling officials, security personnel for poll duty

The strong rooms of all the six assembly constituencies and special polling stations falling under the district were opened on Thursday morning for taking out EVMs and VVPATs.

Bishnupur: District Election Officer, DEO Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram flagged off polling officials and security personnel for poll duty for the six Assembly Constituencies of Bishnupur district on Thursday for the first phase of voting of the 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 which will be held April 19, 2024.   

The poll personnel along with the EVMs/VVPATs and other polling materials to be utilized for polling were escorted in over 350 vehicles from the dispersal center in the Mini Secretariat complex to their respective polling stations by armed security personnel. 

The strong rooms of all the six assembly constituencies and special polling stations falling under the district were opened on Thursday morning for taking out of EVMs and VVPATs. 

Mention may be made that the total number of electors in the district as per the final special summary revision 2024 is 1,83,472 (89,209 male, 94,220 female, and 43 transgender). There will be 256 polling stations including 22 special polling stations in the district. The total number of polling personnel deployed on election duty is 1332 including 30 percent reserved, while the total number of security personnel deployed is 2086, including armed and unarmed personnel.

SP Bishnupur, Ksh. Ravikumar; Additional District Election Officer, H. Bobby Sharma and other nodal officers of the district were also present during the flag-off.
