Kakching: A one-day candle-making training program was
successfully concluded at Indoor stadium relief camp, Kakching today with the formal launching of “Leibaklei Candles.” The program was organized by the Kakching District Skill Committee, under the project “Leibaklei”.
Deputy Commissioner, Kakching, Shri Somorjit Salam, graced the event and encouraged the inmates to expand their business with collective action. He also informed that the District Skill Committee is planning to open a temporary stalls to market products manufactured by
inmates of relief camps in the Kakching district.
Speaking at the programme, RK Lembisana, a subject matter specialist at KVK, Thoubal, who was also the instructor of the training program, expressed gratitude over the successful completion of the training. She also empowered the inmates on how enhancing their skills could
help them sustain their livelihood and be self-reliant.
The coordinator of the program, Irom Abesana Devi-MGNF, Kakching, advised the trainees to sell their products and expand their business under the brand name “Leibaklei Candles” and be resilient like the flower“ Leibaklei” itself. The launching program was attended by the Indoor Stadium Committee Chairperson, President, members and other inmates of the relief camp.
The project “Leibaklei” was intend to empower inmates with skills for self-sustainability.
The skill training programme was attended by 36 inmates of the relief camp.
