DC East Khasi Hills issue guidelines from funerals, last rites

Serving meals to the guests should be avoided. Family and relatives should ensure that attendees do not stay for long.

Shillong: Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has, in an order dated May 1, issued guidelines which are to be followed at all funerals/cremation/last rites.

Only a maximum of 30 (thirty) persons will be allowed and social distancing of 2 metres/6 feet should be strictly maintained. Handshakes /body contact should be avoided as far as possible, also hand sanitizers are to be provided to the attendees and should be used frequently.
