Covid-19: India reports 25,404 new infections, 339 deaths

The latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,32,89,579 whereas the death toll has climbed to 4,43,213 according to the data.

New Delhi: India logged 25,404 new cases and 339 deaths due to the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the union health ministry said on Tuesday.

The latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,32,89,579 whereas the death toll has climbed to 4,43,213 according to the data.

The daily positivity rate of the infection was recorded at 1.78 per cent in the country while the active cases have remained under 3.7 lakh after declining by 12,062 cases, as per the health ministry’s bulletin.

The cumulative active caseload now stands at 3,62,207. The share of active cases now stands at 1.09 per cent of the total Covid-19 cases, the figures showed.

Meanwhile, 37,127 more people recovered from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours making the recovery registry climb to 3,24,84,159. As per the data, the recovery rate stands at 97.58 per cent.

The union ministry stated that the weekly positivity rate (2.07per cent) has been under 3 per cent for 81 days now.

A total of 54,44,44,967 samples were tested up to September 13, 2021, for Covid-19. Of these, 14,30,891 samples were tested on Monday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 75 crores.

“More than 78 lakh (78,66,950) vaccine doses have been administered on Monday making the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage reach a cumulative figure of 75.22 crore (75,22,38,324) as per provisional reports,” the ministry said.
