Covid-19: Delhi logs over 1,000 cases for 2nd consecutive day

The national capital reported a single-day spike of 1,375 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, government health bulletin reported on Wednesday.

New Delhi: For the second consecutive day, Delhi logged more than 1,000 cases of Covid-19.

The national capital reported a single-day spike of 1,375 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, government health bulletin reported on Wednesday.

However, no deaths were recorded while 909 more patients recuperated from the viral illness in the same duration, according to the bulletin.

With the new cases reported on Wednesday, Delhi’s total number of Covid-19 cases increased to 19,15,905 and the number of casulaties stood at 26,223, the latest bulletin stated.

The positivity rate also increased to 7.01 per cent, a rise of 0.5 per cent the city recorded a day ago when the city had logged 1,118 Covid-19 cases.

Delhi, on Monday, had reported 614 new COVID-19 cases and zero deaths due to the disease, while the positivity rate had stood at 7.06 per cent.

The daily tally of Covid-19 infection in Delhi has crossed 1,000 cases after a gap of one month. The city had reported 1,032 cases on May 12.
