Covid-19: Arunachal records 22 new cases

On the positive side, Itanagar Capital Complex, for the first time in over one and a half months, did not report any virus cases in the past 24 hours.

Itanagar: The overall Covid-19 case tally of Arunachal Pradesh jumped to 66,531 as 22 more people have tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 32 persons have recuperated from the disease during the past 24 hours which took the total number of recoveries to 66,102. Following this, the active caseload came down to 133 from the previous day’s 143, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Ten of the fresh cases were detected in Namsai, followed by Leparada which recorded four cases, two each from Lower Subansiri and one apiece in Anjaw, Papum Pare, Changlang, and Dibang Valley.

On the positive side, Itanagar Capital Complex, for the first time in over one and a half months, did not report any virus cases in the past 24 hours.

The majority (18) of the total cases were found to be symptomatic as against the asymptomatic cases (4). The new cases came off 187 samples tested in the last 24 hours, recording the positivity rate at 11.76 percent against the previous day’s 14.72 percent.

Arunachal’s Covid toll remained unchanged at 296. The recovery rate stood at 99.35 percent, the case positivity rate at 0.20 percent while the fatality rate is 0.44 percent, Dr Jampa said.
