Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has reported 64 fresh cases of COVID-19 infection and one more casualty during the past 24 hours, official sources said.
With the new fatality, the state’s COVID toll rose to 273. A 55-year-old male patient with comorbidity from Papum Pare district succumbed to COVID-19 related complications at Dedicated COVID Hospital, Chimpu here, a senior Health department official said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the State, for a change, witnessed more single-daily infections than daily recoveries. The 64 new cases swelled the state’s tally of confirmed cases to 54,190.
Of the new cases, Tirap accounted for the highest infections at 33, followed by Itanagar Capital Complex at nine, while West Kameng and Lower Dibang Valley recorded five cases each and Tawang three. Of the total cases, 48 were found to be asymptomatic and 16 symptomatic.
On the contrary, 61 cases of recuperation came up during the period that upped the total number of recoveries to 53,504.
The state’s active caseload stands at 413, while the recovery rate a little bit decreased to 98.73 per cent.
