New Delhi: Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on 75th Independence day, Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala on Sunday released a video of Modi’s address of 2019 independence day, where he has announced a whopping Rs 100 lakh crore development fund for modernising infrastructure and alleged that today the Prime Minister again announced another infrastructure fund which is another “rhetoric” by him.
“It was the same two years ago. It’s been two years, at least they could have changed the figure,” Surjewala said in a tweet.
Surjewala released the video after the Prime Minister announced Rs 100 lakh crore Gati Shakti national infrastructure master plan aimed at bringing employment opportunities to the youth and helping develop new economic zones across the country on Sunday.
Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge also took a swipe at the Prime Minister saying, seven years the country has been listening to the same speeches by him but nothing is being done for any aggrieved section, including small farmers.
“He announces new schemes but these are never implemented on the ground. He says a lot of things but never adheres to them,” he told the reporters.
Kharge also took exception to the Prime Minister targeting the previous regimes, saying the country will not progress by criticising the Congress from the ramparts of the Red Fort again and again.
