Kochi: A Coast Guard helicopter crashed at the Cochin International Airport (CIAL) here on Sunday.

The accident happened while the helicopter was taking-off during a training session at 12.25 pm leading to the suspension of airport operation for two hours, sources said.

Three people on board, who suffered minor injuries, were admitted to a private hospital at Angamally.

Meanwhile, the Coast Guard ALH was removed from the operational area around 2 pm and runway has been cleared for operation after safety inspection.

Meanwhile, an Oman Air flight from Muscat has been diverted to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. It will come back from Thiruvananthapuram soon, sources added.
