CM’s Message on the occasion of National Education Day

The CM added "On this historic day, I would like to congratulate and extend my best wishes to the officers and employees of the education department, teaching faculties, students, and the committees associated with the educational institutions."

Gangtok: Chief Minister PS Tamang conveyed his message to students, teachers and employees on the occasion of National Education Day.

“I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim on the occasion of National Education Day, which marks the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, who served as the first Minister of Education from 1947 to 1958. Maulana Azad was a freedom fighter and a reformer who was committed to developing the Nation through education. The education sector is one of the priority sectors of the State Government and we have focused on improving infrastructure, facilities, and the quality of education being provided in the State. Our Government has initiated the establishment of Universities and colleges to enhance the level of higher education in Sikkim. We are focused on providing the best facilities at the primary level to assist in building a strong foundation for our students. Recently, schools and educational institutions have recommenced classes after a prolonged gap due to COVID-19. As we gradually recover from the effects of the pandemic, we will initiate our plans to further enhance the education sector and provide the best facilities in our schools and colleges” he said.

The CM added “On this historic day, I would like to congratulate and extend my best wishes to the officers and employees of the education department, teaching faculties, students, and the committees associated with the educational institutions.”
