Ahemedabad: Gujarat chief inister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the International Kite Festival 2023 here at the Sabarmati riverfront on Sunday, the event will see the participation of around 125 kite flyers from 68 countries and this particular edition would have the G-20 theme ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.
The festival will come to a close on January 14, besides the international participants, 65 kite flyers from 14 states of India and 660 from different parts Gujarat will also take part in the week-long event.
While inaugarating the event CM Patel said that the kite festival is an opportunity to touch the sky and reach new heights, Kites he said are a symbol of progress, prosperity, and flight.
Australia, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Canada, France, Russia, Germany, Colombia, Denmark, Mexico, New Zealand, Indonesia, Italy,South Africa, Belgium, Iraq, Malaysia and Bahrain are among the 68 countries participating in the event.
Apart from Ahmedabad, the festival is also being organised in Somnath, Rajkot, Vadodara, Dholera, Vadnagar, and Dhordo
