Champhai district Consultative Committee & District Level Review Committee meeting held

Aizawl: Champhai District Consultative Committee (DCC) & District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting under the Chairmanship of Pi Maria C.T. Zuali, Deputy Commissioner Champhai was held Wednesday at DC’s Conference Hall, during which the Chairman launched the Potential Credit Linked Plan (PLP) 2021-2022 for Champhai District.

The chairman urged the bankers to conduct massive and wider public awareness campaign on facilities provided through Banks. The Deputy Commissioner also reiterated the urgency of making application forms more simplified instead of intricated forms to facilitate ease of doing business.

Pu L. Lawmvela, Lead District Manager (LDM), SBI Lead Bank Office delivered welcome speech followed by discussion on the performances of Bankers and Stakeholders for the quarter ended September, 2020.

According to the reporting period, Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio was 44.71 %, against the norm of 60%.  Achievement under Priority Sector was 38.42 % while it was 73.43% under Non Priority Sector. Under  Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) there were  34 beneficiaries (Sishu-20, Kishore-98, Tarun-12, Stand Up India-4) getting loan amounting rupess 200.49 lakhs. Target achievement under   Government Sponsored Schemes were also discussed at length. Forty two Bakijai Cases amounting rupees 21.61 lakhs have been reported, and no recovery is reported during the quarter. Non Performing Asset (NPA) under Priority Sector was   rupees 1217.20 lakhs (7.07%) while the same in Non Priority  Sector  was rupees 86.40 lakhs (2.25%).  

Annual Credit Plan Target for Financial Year 2021-2022 and  PMEGP  Annual Credit Plan Target were also discussed and approved at the meeting. Also Social Security Schemes, Currency remittance, Bank security, Calendar for DCC meeting and timely submission of DCC data were also  discussed among other issues.

As of now, there are 15 different Banks branches operating in the district; 4 Public Sector Banks, 4 Private Sector Banks, 6 Regional Rural Banks and 1 State Cooperative Bank. There are a total of  9 ATMs, 8 Business Correspondents, 1 CSP,  26  IPPB  Banking Touch Points   and 2 Financial Literacy Centres (Lead Bank Office, SBI Sponsored and Champhai Financial Literacy Centre, MCAB Ltd.) in the district.
