Imphal: The state cabinet Saturday decided to place the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Six Amendment Bill), 2024 in the upcoming state Assembly Session which is scheduled to be held from February 28, 2024. The agendas of the Cabinet which was discussed today relates to the upcoming Assembly Session.
After the cabinet meeting, speaking to media at his residence at Lamphel, Sanakeithel, Imphal West, Minister IPR, Dr S. Ranajn Singh said that the cabinet also decided to lay the Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fifth Amendment Bill), 2024.
Reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India and Budget 2024-Revised Estimates 2023-24 and Budget Estimates 2024-25 (Vote on Account) will also be laid in the House, he added.
 He informed that the cabinet also agreed to propose implementation of the recommendation of the second National Judicial Pay Commission for payment of allowances to the Manipur judicial service w.e.f. January 1, 2016, in compliance of the Supreme Court’s order.
The cabinet also decided to place the Manipur Labour Laws (Exemption from Renewal of Registration and Licence by establishment) Manipur, Bill 2024 in the Manipur Legislative Assembly for enactment as an Act.
As an unlisted agenda, the Minister mentioned that the post creation of the posts of one Professor and another Associate Professor in the College of Nursing, Manipur was agreed by the cabinet to fulfil the norms of the Indian Nursing Council. The cabinet also decided to create three posts of Translator, Junior Grade and Registrar, and Translation Wing for the High Court of Manipur.
Opening a Super Speciality Branch in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care in JNIMS was also approved. Direct Purchase of 3.77 acres of land for opening an Automated Testing Station at Imphal East was also agreed by the cabinet.
