BRS senior leader Thummala joins Congress

Thummala is a senior leader from Khammam district who had served as a minister during the current BRS regime and earlier in undivided Andhra Pradesh when TDP was in power.

Hyderabad: Former Minister Tummala Nageswara of ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from Khammam, joined the Congress party here on Saturday.

Tummala, who resigned from the BRS Party during the day, joined the grand old party in the presence of top Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge just before commencing of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting at a Taj Krishna here.

He has been denied the ruling BRS party ticket from Paleru constituency.

This development has sent shock waves through the ruling BRS party, especially with the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
