Blue Tigers set to impress spectators in 3-nation I’nl tri series: AIFF official

Jammu: Before participating in the Asian Cup, the Blue Tigers (Indian Football team) are set to leave a mark in their representation in the three-nation international tri series being played at Imphal.
All India Football Federation, Technical Committee, member, Arun Malhotra said that the tri nation international football series is happening first time in Imphal, adding, “the Indian team has three pillars rather experienced motivators in middle, led by prolific striker Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu will be India’s No. 1 goalkeeper while the defensive unit is manned by Sandesh Jhingan.”
He stated that Indian Football National Coach Igor Stimac with a style of play and plan is working and unfolding the bright side of Indian football ahead of the Asian Cup.
“In a tri series international football tournament being held at Imphal, India has made an impressive start by defeating Myanmar 1-0 and this victory will give a big boost and start to players and are ready to face Kyrgyz Republic tomorrow.”
India ranked 106 in FIFA Rankings for men’s team, enjoying a favourable head go Heda record against World Number 159 Myanmar and World Number 94 Krygyz Republic.
“I had a privilege meeting the Indian team coach Igor Stimac recently at Kolkata wherein Indian football and future challenges at length were discussed,” Malhotra said.
He added that a spark of hard toil with the team could be felt in a much needed win by India against Myanmar and all available resources are put in place to have better results in the upcoming Asian football tournament.
“Igor Stimac says that he has worked intensively to develop Indian players and contribute to the growth of Indian football,” Malhotra revealed.
“We believe, the way the Indian team has evolved under the present Head coach, nothing will stop Blue Tigers to defeat all odds and perform well in Asia Cup and will make drastic improvement in football world ranking,” hoped the ace footballer, the first from Jammu and Kashmir to represent in the AIFF.
