BJP-led Union govt. trying to capture everything in India: Nitish

Lauding Rahul Gandhi for his Bharat Jodo Yatra Kumar said that it was good that Rahul Gandhi was caring forward the programmes of his party.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday said that the entire opposition feels that everything was being captured by the Union government led by the BJP and claimed the situation would improve once the opposition parties get united under one umbrella.

Kumar told news persons at Jai Prakash Narayan International Airport here that the entire opposition was under the impression that no development-oriented work was being carried out/ Instead, the union government was hell-bent on capturing everything.

Referring to his conversation with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and stalwarts of other opposition parties Kumar said the issue of Lok Sabha elections was discussed in New Delhi and during the conversation, everyone was of the opinion that the results would be better if they come together.

Kumar said it is good that the opposition leaders have realised it and maintained that once he severed his ties with BJP the seven political parties in Bihar came together. Kumar informed that he had a telephonic conversation with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and would visit her after the dialogue with her continued.

Replying to a query regarding Rahul Gandhi Mamta Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attending a programme to be held in Haryana Nitish Kumar said that the programme in Haryana was not a political one and he had been attending such programs earlier. However, due to Covid 19, pandemic Kumar said that he could not attend such programmes and now would participate in them.

Lauding Rahul Gandhi for his Bharat Jodo Yatra Kumar said that it was good that Rahul Gandhi was caring forward the programmes of his party.

Speaking about the PM’s face of opposition, Kumar reiterated his refusal for the key post and maintained that it would be decided amicably.

He said that the new front of the opposition would function on a common minimum programme in the country.

Reacting to various queries related to statements being issued by different BJP leaders under the changed political scenario of the state, Kumar termed them as a publicity stunt of BJP leaders.

When asked about jungle raj return remarks of the opposition in Bihar, Kumar categorically said there was no jungle raj but Janata Raj in the state. Kumar reiterating his commitment to bringing the oppressed section into the mainstream of society said that his government was trying to control the population by providing education.

When ask about no alternative for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kumar said that the time will give a suitable reply.
