Bishnupur: Bishnupur district joined the nation Saturday in celebrating the Grand Finale of the Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya Power @2047 (Bijli Mahotsav & Ujala Diwas) at Kyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Bishnupur.
Tongbram Robindro Singh, MLA Thanga AC and Chairperson of Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited, MSPDCL graced the function as the Chief Guest and interacted with beneficiaries of electrification schemes.
Lourembam Bikram, Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, Laishram Maniyaima Singh, Caretaker Chairperson, Bishnupur Municipal Council, Nongmaithem Jadu Singh, Pradhan, Nachou Gram Panchayat (GP), Moirangthem Bala Devi, Pradhan, Ngaikhong Khullen GP, Ngangom Sovana Devi, Pradhan, Keinou GP, Thokchom Nanaobi Devi, Pradhan, Toubul GP also attended the function as Guests of Honour.
Beneficiaries of various electrification schemes shared their testimonials during the interactive session. Short films on some of the key achievements in the power sector were also screened during the function.
Following a district level observance, the district also joined the national grand finale celebration through virtual mode wherein the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi digitally launched the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. He also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of various green energy projects of NTPC. He also launched the National Solar rooftop portal.
Bijli Mahotsav & Ujala Diwas celebration is to highlight the progress in the power sector under “Ujjawal Bharat, Ujjawal Bhavishya– Power @ 2047” as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which was organized by Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India in association with Government of Manipur.
