Imphal: The Manipur government has decided to upgrade a few healthcare facilities in the state. A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Biren Singh has also resolved to provide ex-gratia to the victims of the Khoupum road accident, which claimed eight lives on December 21, last year.
Speaking to the media, Health and IPR Minister Dr. S. Ranjan Singh said the state cabinet has decided to upgrade the Primary Health Center, PHC, Jesami to the Community Health Center, and Luwangsangbam Primary Health Sub Center to the Primary Health Center, PHC.
He also said that the cabinet has decided to upgrade PHC, Tamei to CHC.
The Minister also informed that the Sagolband Urban Primary Health Center will be established with the required post-creation funding.
The former Chief Engineer of PWD, T. Robindro Singh, will be re-engaged as Chief Engineer of the Engineering Cell in the Health and Family Welfare Department. Thirty staffers for Tele Manas, which was recently opened at RIMS, will be recruited. Required faculty posts will be created for Churachandpur Medical College, CMC, Churachandpur, he added.
Special staff will be assigned to check for overlapping land in districts through concerned Deputy Commissioners on both sides.Two Eklavya Residential Model Schools will be established at Kamjong and Churachandpur, respectively. The minister announced that seven guest teachers and support staff will be hired for these schools.
Some of the agendas were deferred, while some of the unlisted agendas were also discussed in the public interest.
