Bihar govt to provide Food Security beneficiaries allowance

Additional chief secretary cabinet S Siddharth said here on Tuesday that the cabinet in the meeting held here under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved the decision for providing an allowance to the beneficiaries.

Patna: Bihar government has decided to provide an allowance in case the beneficiaries under the food security act do not get the supply of food grains.

Additional chief secretary cabinet S Siddharth said here on Tuesday that the cabinet in the meeting held here under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar approved the decision for providing an allowance to the beneficiaries.

He said 1.25 times the allowance of the minimum support price of the food grains to be given to the beneficiaries would be given in case the beneficiary does not get food grains.

Siddharth said that the cabinet also sanctioned the appointment of 75543 police personnel next year.

Apart from this, the cabinet has approved 7808 posts in the police and civil category for the first phase of dial 112 under ERSS.

The cabinet also fixed the upper limit of contributions up to Rs 500000 in a year in the general provident fund. Siddharth set earlier there was no maximum limit in the GPF.

The cabinet decided to establish Bihar Public Finance and policy institution for framing and review of economic policies.

The institution would be an autonomous body.
