Patna: Bihar Assembly was adjourned twice during a pre-length session on Tuesday following pandemonium created by the entire opposition in support of their demand for rolling back the Agnipath-Agnivir scheme.
As soon as the house assembled for the day at 11 AM, the entire opposition created noise in support of their demand and trooped to the well-carrying postcards and posters.
Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha appealed to the members to resume their seats and said that the issue being raised by the opposition members does not belong to this house and that creating any chaos on it in the state assembly was improper.
He requested the members to let him continue with the enlisted business of the house for the day.
The members, however continuously shouted slogans against the government and created noisy scenes.
Amid pandemonium, the Speaker took up the question of our proceedings and continued the house till 11:40 AM but adjourned it till 12 o’clock asking the leaders of all legislator parties to meet him in his chamber.
When the house reassembled at 12 ‘O’clock, the opposition members wanted to know about the outcome of the meeting held in the chamber of the speaker.
Amid their noise, the speaker turned down the adjournment motions moved by CPI-ML member Mehboob Alam and others.
In the meantime, the opposition members again trooped to the well and shouted slogans against the state as well as the central government. The slogan-shouting members demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar break his silence on the issue.
Along with other enlisted business the speaker took up the Zero Hour proceedings but again adjourned the house till 2:00 p.m. following the continuous acrimony.
