Kolkata/Siliguri: Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday said Bengal is the only state whose dues are being withheld.
Addressing a meeting as part of his two-month-long Jono Sanjog Yatra (mass contact outreach) ahead of the West Bengal Panchayat polls, Banerjee said, ” Bengal is the only state whose dues
are being withheld. They (Centre) have cleared dues for all other states. “
Stating that the BJP should know that a state’s MGNREGS dues must be paid within 15 days, Banerjee said, ” There are 20 Lakh families in Bengal who had worked under ‘100 days of work’
but their rightful dues are being withheld by PM
@narendramodi. “
Reiterating that no resident of Bengal can say that the Mamata Banerjee Government has financially burdened people, he further said, ” On the other hand, PM @narendramodi is asking Rs. 1,000 for linking PAN with Aadhar. That’s how inhumane the @BJP4India is. “
Mentioning that in Dakshin Dinajpur, over 5.5 lakh individuals are dependent on MGNREGS, Banerjee accused BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar of “not writing a single letter to the Centre”.
” In fact, 40,000 people in the district haven’t received their wages from 2 years, ” he said.
Stating that the Trinamool Congress Government is delivering welfare services to areas where it lost and to areas where it won, Banerjee added, ” GoWB delivers welfare schemes to all irrespective of election results within the state. “
“We believe in fair governance! ” he averred.
