Imphal: Manipur recorded below double digit deaths of eight in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday after several days. During the same period, the state recorded 757 positive cases (753 general population, 4 CAPF) 1078 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The eight persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include two each from Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupyr and one each from Churachandpour and Thoubal. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,614.
Of the 14 persons who succumbed to Covid 19, only two of them have been vaccinated with the 1st dose and five of them had co-morbidities.
The 753 persons (354 males, 399 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 277 from Imphal West, 230 from Imphal East, 62 from Churachandpur, 58 from Thoubal, 48 from Bishnupur, 30 from Kakching, 13 from Senapati and Tamenglong, nine each from Chandel and Ukhrul, five from Tengnoupal and three from Kangpokpi.
Altogether 5,275 persons were tested on Monday amounting for a positivity rate of 14.4%.
Meanwhile, of the 1,078 persons who were discharged, 533 are from home isolation, 295 from CHICs, 210 from CCCs, 17 from JNIMS and 23 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 89.91% on Thursday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,02,147 (General Population – 98,896, Central Security Personnel – 3,999). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 91,847(General Population – 87,896, Central Security Personnel – 3,951). The number of active cases is 8,666(General Population – 8,643, Personnel – 43).
Altogether, 12,490 were vaccinated on August 4, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 13,60,627(1st dose 11,30,261, 2nd dose 2,29,766).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as of August 5 at 6 pm is 141 which include 110 general beds and 31 ICU/HDU beds, the release added.
The total number of beds available in CCCs in the state is 3,547 out of which 1,619 beds are occupied while 1,928 are vacant, the official release added.
