Avalanche warning issued in 4 Kashmir districts

Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday issued “Medium Danger” level avalanche warning in four districts of the Kashmir valley, officials said.

The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in a statement here said that avalanche with “Medium Danger” Level is likely to occur above 2000 to 2800 metres above sea level over Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal and north Kashmir districts of Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara during the next 24 hours.

People living in these areas have been advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas till further orders, the statement added.
