Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles foiled illegal timber smuggling on Friday.
Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) foiled illegal timber smuggling, when vigilant troops of the Assam Rifles established mobile vehicle check post in the general area Wamku Jn and Mongsang Panth of Chandel District and intercepted six vehicles carrying timber logs along with ten individuals, an official of the forces said.
The captured vehicles along with the timber and individuals were handed over to the District Forest Officer, Chandel for further investigation.
