Imphal: In a decisive step towards strengthening the regional security architecture, Assam Rifles convened a district-level security meeting on 31 March 2026 at Somsai Garrison, Ukhrul. Building on the momentum of recent community engagement initiatives, this forum brought together a unified contingent of officials and personnel to conduct a comprehensive review of the prevailing security environment in the district and adjoining areas. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles, Ukhrul, with the participation of key civil authorities, including the District Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police, Ukhrul, alongside intelligence representatives.
The deliberations focused on the evolving law-and-order situation and border vulnerabilities, with a specific emphasis on intensifying surveillance along the International Border and the hinterland. Participants highlighted the importance of sharing real-time intelligence and executing joint operations through seamless coordination between security forces and the civil administration. Assam Rifles reiterated its role as an impartial and professional force dedicated to safeguarding national interests and maintaining communal harmony. By prioritising firm action against anti-national elements through sustained operations, all stakeholders resolved to intensify actionable efforts for a stable and secure district.
