Colombo: India won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup’s 4th Super 4 match at Premadasa Stadium here on Tuesday.

Captain Rohit Sharma brought in Axar Patel in place of Shardul Thakur considering the pitch looking drier and absence of grass. “The pitch might assist the spinners, but we also have three quality pacers,” Rohit said.

Sri Lanka, however, have gone with an unchanged side into this crucial game.

India will look to book their berth into the final by clinching today’s Super 4 match against Sri Lanka, who would be placed on the top of the points table with four points in two matches.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka, whereas, have two points each from as many matches, besides Bangladesh is yet to open an account.

If India lose to Sri Lanka today, then all the four teams will remain in contention for a place in the final.

And if India and Pakistan win their last matches, they will end up garnering four points from three games. In this scenario, two teams out of three with better run rate will reach the final.

In case India and Pakistan lose their last match, then Bangladesh will garner two points, and the second finalist will be decided on the basis of a team with a better net run rate between the three.
