Itanagar: Covid19 recoveries continue to surpass the single-day infections in Arunachal Pradesh.
Forty-one people have recuperated from the contagion during the past 24 hours as against 21 fresh cases reported from across the state, thereby shrinking its active caseload to 231, a senior health official said.
With 21 new cases, the Northeastern state’s overall case tally rose to 66,314 while the total number of recoveries increased to 65,787, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Seven of the fresh cases were detected in East Siang, three in Tawang, and two in Itanagar Capital Complex, while one apiece came from Kamle, Dibang Valley, Leparada, Lower Dibang Valley, Lower Subansiri, Namsai, Pakke Kessang, Shi-Yomi, and Upper Siang.
The majority of the cases (17) were found to be symptomatic as against symptomatic ones (4). The state had collected 226 samples for Covid testing during the last 24 hours which took the cumulative figure to 12,86,257.
The state’s Covid toll remained unchanged at 296. The recovery rate further improved to 99.20 percent, while the positivity rate trimmed down to 0.35 percent and the fatality rate stood at 0.45 percent.
