Itanagar: In a significant drop in single-day Coronavirus infections, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday reported nine new Covid19 cases – the lowest in over a month’s time when the state started seeing a sharp rise in the contagion – taking its overall case tally to 66,205, according to a senior health official.
On the other hand, the state recorded 35 recoveries that taking the total number of recovered cases to 65,587, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr. Lobsang Jampa said.
With recoveries (35) exceeding the daily fresh cases (9), the state’s Covid19 active caseload has further dipped to 322. The day’s positivity rate was 8.33 percent against the previous day’s 11.94 percent.
Of the fresh cases, four came from Leparada, three from Itanagar Capital Complex, and one apiece from Dibang Valley and Tawang. Two cases turned out to be asymptomatic and seven symptomatic. The State had collected merely 108 samples for Covid19 testing during the past 24 hours which took its cumulative figure to 12,85,366.
With no fresh fatalities reported, the state’s Covid toll remained static at 296, the officer said.
