Arunachal reports 418 new Covid-19 cases; one succumbs

Itanagar: As many as 418 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 44,222 while the death toll rose to 204 as one more succumbed to the virus.

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 111, followed by Lower Subansiri 31 and Upper Subansiri 29, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Of these, 216 patients are asymptomatic and 202 symptomatic.

According to the bulletin, a 80-year-old man from Siang district passed away on Wednesday at DCH, Pasighat. He died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome with Covid pneumonia. The body was handed over to the family members as per Covid-19 SOP.

On a positive note, 365 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 39,634.

Active cases tally stands at 4,384.
