Arunachal reports 194 new Covid-19 cases; death toll at 59

According to the bulletin, a 55-year-old man who was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia expired due to acute respiratory distress syndrome on Wednesday evening at DCH-Chimpu here.

Itanagar: As many as 194 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 18,256, while the fatalities toll rose to 59 following death of a 55-year-old man.

Out of the new cases of infections, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 68, followed by Lower Dibang Valley 54 and Papum Pare 18, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Barring 43, all the case are asymtomatic.

According to the bulletin, a 55-year-old man who was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia expired due to acute respiratory distress syndrome on Wednesday evening at DCH-Chimpu here.

The deceased was working as a teacher at Governnent Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Itanagar.

On a positive note, 47 patients were discharged following recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 17,085.

Active cases stood at 11,12.
