Arunachal registers 7 fresh COVID cases, 9 recoveries

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh recorded seven more new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 55,197, a senior health official said.

Of the fresh infections, Itanagar Capital Complex, Shi-Yomi and West Kameng reported two cases each, while East Siang detected one case.
Six of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and one symptomatic, the official said.

The state had collected 772 samples for COVID-19 testing during the last 24 hours to detect the seven fresh cases, which took its cumulative count to 11,90,247.

The state’s COVID death toll stood at 280. On the vaccination front, nearly 3,000 people have received COVID-19 vaccine doses across the state.

So far, 13.42 lakh vaccine doses have been administered to the eligible people of the hilly state since the launch of the countrywide vaccination drive on January 16 last.

Almost 77 per cent of its targeted population have been given the first dose while 56 per cent have taken both doses of the anti-COVID vaccine.
