Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh recorded six fresh COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 55,285, a senior health official said.

On the contrary, five persons have recuperated from the infection in the period that increased the total number of recoveries to 54,969, he said, adding that the state’s active caseload has slightly risen to 36.

All six new cases were reported from in West Kameng district which turned out to be asymptomatic. Five of the total cases were detected at the Bhalukpong POE (point of entry) and one at the Military Hospital, Dahung.

Of the active cases, West Kameng has the highest 12 cases, followed by Itanagar Capital Complex (10), Tawang (7) and Lower Dibang Valley (4), while 20 districts of the state have attained the zero-COVID status.

Altogether 322 samples were collected for COVID-19 testing during the last 24 hours that took the cumulative count to 11,99,142, the official said.

(against the national average of 85%) have received the first jab of the anti-COVID vaccine, while 61 percent have taken both doses of the vaccine – 12 percent more than the national average (49%), state immunization officer Dr D Padung said.
