Arunachal logs 188 new Covid-19 cases; death toll mounts to 251

Itanagar: As many as 188 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 50,793.

The death toll rose to 251 as three more patients succumbed to the disease.

Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 54, followed by Lower Subansiri 15 and Tawang 12, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.

Of these, 112 patients are asymptomatic and 76 symptomatic.

According to the bulletin, of the three casualties, one each was reported from Papum Pare, Upper Subansiri and Lohit.

On a positive note, 233 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the total recoveries to 48,054. The recovery rate is over 94 per cent.

Active cases tally stands at 2,488.
