Itanagar: In view of forthcoming elections, a 10-member Election Committee of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been constituted which will be headed by party’s State president Biyuram Wahge and senior BJP leader and Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
The committee, which also includes Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and both the Lok Sabha Members Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao, has been consented to by BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, party sources said on Tuesday.
BJP’s state general secretary (organisation) Ananta Narayan Mishra and senior party worker Kenyir Ringu also got prominence in the party’s poll panel, while BJP Mahila Morcha’s state president Kohman Lungphi Ngemu has been appointed as ex-officio member.
BJP national spokesperson cum NE coordinator Dr Sambit Patra and national secretary cum NE joint coordinator Rituraj Sinha have been appointed as special invitees.
The Assembly polls in Arunachal Pradesh are due in April-May this year which is likely to be held along with the 2024 general elections.
