Arunachal House opens , Hondik remembered

Itanagar: A three-day monsoon session of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly began here on Tuesday, with the House paying an obituary to former Minister Changkom Hondik.

Hondik, who passed away on June 17, was elected to the Assembly from Namsang in Tirap district in 1996 and was later inducted as Industries Minister in the Gegong Apang ministry.

He was the general secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee for two terms.

“Hondik was always committed to the cause of the state and its loving and hardworking people,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.

“Hondik was an outspoken leader who made immense contributions to society. His demise is a great loss,” added Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona.
