Arunachal frees 14 jailed prisoners to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

During the inmates’ release programme, DIG (Jail) Tojo Karga wished them to be good citizens.

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Government has released 14 jailed prisoners under a special remission scheme to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the country’s Independence – Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

“As per the instructions of MHA, Govt of India, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh has granted special remission (1st phase) to 14 convict prisoners as a part of commemoration of 75th  anniversary of India’s Independence – Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” an official release said.

Those set free from the prisons include eight from District Jail, Jully (Itanagar) and three each from District Jail, Tezu (Lohit) and Sub-Jail, Changlang. 

During the inmates’ release programme, DIG (Jail) Tojo Karga wished them to be good citizens.
